Former All Black and Crusaders player Tom Taylor is looking for a new team after he was sacked by French club Pau for skipping the country during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The Club claimed that Taylor departed France in March, despite being asked to remain in the country in case the Top 14 competition was able to resume.

They say Taylor had put the team and their staff in complete disarray and it was against the values, spirit and ethics of the club.

A move to Japan could appeal for Taylor once travel restrictions eventually ease and global rugby competitions crank back up following the suspension of play due to Covid-19.

Taylor has played three tests for the All Blacks, making his debut against Australia in 2013. He played 58 games for the Crusaders between 2012 to 2015, and 42 matches for Canterbury.
