Heavy rain warning in force for Viti Levu and maritime areas

A flash flood alert is now in force for all low lying and flash flood prone areas of Viti Levu.

The Nadi Weather Office also says a heavy rain warning remains in force for Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Moala and Southern Lau Group.

A trough of low pressure lies just to the south of the group.

The associated cloud is affecting most parts of the country.

Another active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain is expected to affect the group from tonight.

Expect heavy rain and thunderstorms, localized heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
