A flash flood warning remains in force for all low-lying, flash flood-prone areas and small streams in Fiji.

Meanwhile, a heavy rain warning remains in force for the whole of the Fiji group.

An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain continues to affect the country.

Another active trough of low pressure with the associated rain is expected to affect the group from the west tomorrow and gradually spread to the rest of the country till Sunday.

The Weather Office says there will be occasional periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Possible impacts of this heavy rain are major flooding of low-lying communities, Irish Crossings and businesses, flooding on major roads with significant disruption to essential services, power supply and traffic flow, displacement of communities near streams and river banks due to flooding and risk of landslides with danger to life while major coastal flooding is expected during high tide, particularly along the shore.

The next high tide is at about 3am.
