A Flash Flood Warning is now in force for low-lying and flood-prone areas in Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says a Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for the country.

They say an active trough of low pressure is slow-moving over the country, and the associated cloud, showers, and rain are expected to affect the country until tomorrow.

People should expect flash flooding in flood-prone and low-lying informal settlements, communities, business areas, and Irish crossings, which may lead to traffic disruptions.

Surface flooding is also possible on streets in urban areas with poor drainage.

Drivers are advised to expect slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially during heavy downpours, which increase the risk of road accidents.
