The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side made a great statement in their second match of the Fiji Airways Mini International 7s tournament leg 2 beating the NZ Black Ferns 33-14 at Churchill Park today.

Fijiana scored three quick tries in the first 5 minutes of the game with two successful conversions to take an early 19-0 lead.

The Black Ferns regrouped and managed to score an unconverted try at the stroke of halftime to trail the Fijiana side 19-5 at the break.

The Black Ferns took advantage of the Fijiana side's blunders in the early stages of the second half to score another converted try to close the gap to 19-12.

Replacement winger Laisani Moceisawana scored Fiji's fourth try with a successful conversion to extend their lead to 26-12.

Fiji's Reapi Uluinasau put the final nail on the coffin scoring the final try of the match with the conversion successful.

Fiji will play Aussie Gold at 3.40pm in their final match of day 1.

France is currently playing Aussie Green.
