The Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua side last night received a grant of $328,000 that was approved by the cabinet for winning the Super W title back-to-back in just their second year in the competition

In a show of appreciation, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced that each of the thirty-two team members will receive $8,000, with the nine-team officials.

While delivering a heartfelt speech, Rabuka says the team's remarkable victory for the second time has brought immense pride and joy to the nation.

Rabuka says the team’s triumph has not only made Fiji proud but has also become an integral part of the country's sporting legacy.

He reaffirms the People's Coalition Government's commitment to support and invest in sports across the nation saying the government aims to establish new sports facilities and create a robust sporting ecosystem to foster the growth and success of talented athletes on the global stage.

Rabuka also says that the Fijiana Drua’s historic achievement has etched their names in the history books and secured their place in Fiji's sporting legacy.

Captain Bitila Tawake conveyed the team's appreciation to the Prime Minister and the government for the gesture of appreciation and has expressed apologies on behalf of the team for the recent outbursts that occurred during the past few weeks.
