Fijiana 7s finishes 7th at the Madrid 7s after thrashing GB 42-7 in 7th place playoff

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side has finished in 7th place at the HSBC Madrid 7s after demolishing Great Britain 42-7 in the 7thplace playoff tonight.

Fiji scored 3 converted tries in the first half through Reapi Uluinasau, who scored a double, and Lavena Cavuru while Great Britain scored their lone try through Isla Norman-Bell as the game went into the break with Fiji holding a 21-7 lead.

Fiji started the second half strongly with Cavuru scoring her second converted try in the 8th minute to extend their lead to 28-7.

Verenaisi Ditavutu and Adi Vani Buleki scored two more converted tries in the 10th and 12th minute respectively to give Fiji the win.

Australia will play France in the Women’s Cup Final at 5.49am tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side will take on NZ in the Men’s 3rd place playoff at 5.18am tomorrow.

France will take on Argentina in the Men’s Cup final at 6.26am tomorrow.
