Drua reigns supreme at The Fortress repelling Force 24-22

It was a nail biter at The Fortress in Lautoka as the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua and the Force went at it hammer and tongs.

The lead changed hands a couple of times with the Force striking first to take an early 7-0 lead.

Drua No 8 Elia Canakaivata was shown a yellow card in the 8th minute.

Replacement prop Penaia Cakobau finally got the Drua on the scoreboard with a driving run levelling things at 7-7.

Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula scored a beautiful try after slick passes from Virimi Vakatawa, Isikeli Rabitu and then an inside pass from Tuidraki Samusamuvodre to extend their lead to 14-7.

In the 34th minute, Vakatawa who was flawless all game in his defence and attack drew in a couple of defenders to offload to Rabitu to score in the corner and keep the scoreboard ticking over to 19-7.

Force winger Dylan Pietsch got his side back on the board in the 47th minute after an overlap which he capitalised on in the corner to bring the points to 19-12.

In the 58th minute, Force  skipper Jeremy Williams barrelled over the Drua defence to make it a 2 point game at 19-17 after the conversion missed.

Isikeli Basiyalo managed to get a try on debut after he sprinted down the corner to make it 24-17.

Ilaisa Droasese received a yellow card in the 70th minute.

Will Harris had the last say for the Force scoring in the corner but it wasn't enough as the Drua held on to win 24-22

Meanwhile the Fijian Drua had to wait till Round 9 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific to be able to perform their i-Bole.
