Fiji has qualified for the semi finals of the OFC U16 Men’s Championship in Tahiti after defeating Vanuatu 3-2 in their final Group match.

The Baby Bula Boys finished as runners-up in Group A, behind New Zealand and will face the Top seed from Group B for a place in the final.

The semi-finalists effectively get two bites at qualifying for the FIFA U17 Men’s World Cup in Qatar next year, with the two finalists in Papeete joined by the winner of the third and fourth place playoff at the FIFA showpiece.

Vanuatu’s Sakaria Manipen scored first, but Fiji's Krishna Samy Junior equalised a few minutes later, while Rishal Shankar scored another through a free kick just before half time.

Jefpta Taravaki of Vanuatu levelled the scores seven minutes into the second half.

Veleni Rasorewa clinched the winner for Fiji about 10 minutes from full time.

The Baby Bula Boys' opponent is yet to be determined.
