The Fiji Women's 7s side has bagged another gold medal for Fiji at the 2023 Pacific Games after defeating PNG 17-7 in a pulsating Women's gold medal final.

Fiji scored the first try in the first half with a successful conversion before PNG replied with a converted try of their own to level the score at 7-all.

It was an entertaining first half as both teams showed some flairs in attack and also put in some big tackles before PNG scored another try at the stroke of halftime which was later denied after TMO review as the player knocked the ball on right on the tryline.

Both teams were locked at 7-all at halftime.

Fiji came back in the second spell to score two tries and a conversion for the win as the kept PNG scoreless in the second half.

Fiji now have won 10 gold, 16 silver, and 16 bronze so far.

New Caledonia is leading with 55 gold, 37 silver and 34 bronze, while Australia is in second place with 28 gold, 19 silver and 8 bronze.
