With the second leg of the 2024/2025 HSBC World SVNS Series kicking off this week in Perth, history has it that the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side is the most successful team in all the Aussie 7s tournaments over the years.

Since the inception of the World Series format, the Aussie Sevens has been held in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Western Australia.

Fiji is the most successful team with 6 cup triumphs in the Men’s division, while the Black Ferns Sevens have won three titles since the inception of the women’s tournament in 2017.

This year’s Perth 7s will be just the second time for the World Sevens Series to be held in Perth.

Both the Fiji Men’s and Women’s 7s teams left our shores yesterday for the Perth 7s that will kick off on Friday.

Fiji will take on Uruguay at 3.22pm Friday in their first pool match, they will then take on Kenya at 7.59pm Friday before playing New Zealand at 4.22pm Saturday in their final pool match.

The Men’s Cup quarter finals will kick off at 9.27pm Saturday, the semi finals will be at 7.05pm Sunday and the cup final will kick off at 11.35pm. The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s will take on the USA at 4.06pm Friday in their first pool match, they will then play Canada at 8.21pm Friday before playing Great Britain at 6.19pm Saturday in their final pool match. The Women’s cup quarter finals will kick off at 12.02am Sunday, the cup semi finals will start at 7.49pm Sunday and the cup final will kick off at 12.11am Monday.
