The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side secured a 4th place finish at the HSBC Perth 7s tonight after falling to their second defeat of the day, losing 24-7 to Ireland.

The Fijians started well with a converted try to Josaia Batirerega before Ireland’s Terry Kennedy levelled the score in the first half with a converted try in the 6th minute.

The game went into halftime with both teams locked at 7-all.

Ireland took control of the game in the second half, taking advantage of Fiji’s mistakes and errors to score 3 more tries with one conversion.

Fiji tried all they could to get back into the game, but Ireland’s defence was too good keeping them at bay.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s finished 8th in the Women’s competition after falling to Canada 26-5 in the 7th-place playoff.

The Women’s Cup final between Australia and Ireland is currently underway.

The Men’s Cup final between Australia and Argentina will kick off at 9.53 tonight.
