As the country looks forward to another new season of the HSBC SVNS festival, the Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s side is stepping up preparations knowing the task at hand especially with the Olympics coming up next year.

According to coach, Ben Gollings, he and his coaching team have identified a core group of players that they are preparing for the new season.

Gollings says they have been working around the clock to try and get the players ready for another tough season ahead of them.

He says there is a lot of competition in the squad as well and each player is working really hard and putting their hands up for selection for the series and the upcoming Olympics.

Last season, the team finished in 3rd place in the overall standings and did not manage to win any tournament which Gollings and his coaching staff will be looking to change with the first tournament to kick off in December.

The first tournament of the 2023-2024 HSBC SVNS festival will be held in Dubai from the 2nd to the 3rd of December.
