The players selected for the Fiji Airways National Men’s sevens side for the upcoming Pacific Games 2023 in the Solomon Islands will be looking to perform to their very best and try to fight their way into the main squad for the upcoming 2023-2024 World Sevens Series which kicks off in two months.

With the Olympics also coming up next year, players are more determined to put their bodies on the line and put their hands up for selection as Fiji looks to defend their Gold Medal for the third time.

The team selected for the Pacific Games has a mixture of some of the experienced and young players who will be captained by forward Suliano Volivoli and coached by former Fiji 7s and 15s winger Sireli Bobo.

Players like Alusio Vakadranu and Rokoua Rasaku are expected to provide support for captain Volivoli as they have played a few tournaments in the World 7s Series last season.

The Pacific Games will kick off on the 17th of next month with the Rugby 7s competition to begin on the 23rd of next month.

Meanwhile, the first leg of the 2023-2024 World Sevens Series is expected to kick off in December in Dubai.
