People are crowding shops across the country as Diwali draws near, with the festive spirit building and many preparing for celebrations with fireworks, decorations, and new clothes.

Speaking to fijivillage News, General Manager of Mahesh Syndicate, Vinay Kumar says they have imported a wide range of fireworks this year to cater to all types of customers.

Kumar is reminding the public that fireworks can legally be used daily from 5pm to 10pm, and until midnight on Diwali day.

He says Diwali brings all communities together and creates fond memories for everyone, urging people to celebrate with love and care for one another.

Director of Dominion Fashions Pte Ltd, Vishal Ramji says they are seeing increasing foot traffic as the Festival of Lights approaches, with many shoppers taking advantage of their sale prices.

Ramji is urging people to brighten their homes, cherish time with loved ones, and prioritise safety, particularly when using fireworks and diyas.

With shops bustling and celebrations approaching, people are being encouraged to plan early, follow safety guidelines, and make this Diwali a joyful and peaceful occasion for all.

Diwali will be celebrated next Tuesday.
