Minister for Education, Premila Kumar says the students association is responsible for the type of graduates coming out of the Fiji National University and if graduates fail to perform in the work force, the association needs to ask themselves why this is so.

She highlighted this during the FNU Students Association Leadership workshop this morning.

Kumar says as the Students Association, they also have a role to play.

She says as national leaders of tomorrow, they need to be fully versed with the goals and aspirations of the Government.

The Minister says their responsibilities do not end when they leave the university and they must be committed to passing the vision of the nation and continue to take leadership roles in their community, workplace and at a national level.

The Minister also highlighted her experience as a young woman leader when she was appointed as the Head Girl of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School.

Kumar says if people see qualities in you, you have got to believe in it and prove it to them.

Meanwhile, student leaders from all FNU campuses will be taking part in the strategic planning workshop today.

Association President, Ketan Lal says they will be discussing plans for the first 3 months of 2022.
