As part of its preparation for the Nationwide Voter Registration Drive and Know Your Election Campaign, the Fijian Elections Office held a simulation of a voter awareness session in Viria West, Vatuwaqa last night.

In explaining the simulation exercise, the Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem highlighted that it was normal for the FEO to carry out simulations of all of its processes before rolling it out on a national scale.

As part of this exercise, the FEO conducted quality assurance of the presentation conducted by the Voter Awareness Assistants.

The FEO also provided voter registration services to the people who had visited the venue.

Saneem says at the simulation, they had teams present from FEO management who conducted quality assurance based on a checklist designed to assess the performances of the Voter Awareness Assistants in terms of the delivery of the voter awareness material.

The Supervisor says following the exercise, they conducted a quick survey with voters that were present there, and it was found that the voter awareness material were well received, it was informative and the findings demonstrated that the material designed for 2022 General Election present an accurate and consistent voter awareness throughout the country.

In the coming days, the FEO will continue to roll out similar simulations of the voter awareness material prior to the official launch of the Know Your Election Campaign on 25th February 2022.
