Chief of Intelligence and Investigations ACP Sakeo Raikaci says every month, their teams are sent to Kadavu to uproot marijuana plants as they are trying their best to stop the cultivation of drugs on the island.

He says drug related cases in Fiji are now increasing and Police are working hard and maximising all their efforts in trying to get rid of those drugs.

When fijivillage questioned him on the root cause on why villagers continue to plant marijuana, ACP Raikaci says what they have been told is that when Police are moving marijuana plants from the farm to the Police Station, the seeds that fall are sprouting out new marijuana plants.

He says they are investigating if this is true or not and the root cause of why people or villagers go into marijuana farming.

He adds everyday, they arrest people found in possession of drugs, including marijuana and hard drugs.
