Prison escapee Seveci Navakasai was apprehended yesterday in Vatukoula by a joint search team from the Fiji Corrections Service and Fiji Police Force.
He had been on the run for the last eight days after escaping custody in Cuvu, Nadroga.
At approximately 10.45am yesterday he was surrounded and caught at the Slime Dam in Vatukoula.
Acting Commissioner of Corrections Salome Panapasa thanked the Joint-search team for their tireless efforts and also thanked members of the public who aided the team during the search.
