SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka

SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka has stressed that Lenaitasi Duru is a registered official of SODELPA and George Shiu Raj has no power to convene any meeting by SODELPA.

This comes after Duru received a letter from the party Vice President, George Shiu Raj stating that Duru has been removed from his position as the General Secretary.

Duru has confirmed to fijivillage that he received the letter last Monday but they do not recognise it.

Meanwhile, the Party Leader Viliame Gavoka says there is a group of people that have been meeting under the stewardship of Raj and this meeting is unlawful.

Gavoka says Raj does not have any powers to do what he is claiming that he has done, and whatever he does is not legitimate.

Gavoka says Duru is the only General Secretary recognised by the Registrar of Political Parties.

He says SODELPA is solid despite these issues. We are still trying to contact Raj regarding this issue.
