The driver involved in the alleged hit and run accident along Milverton Road yesterday morning is in Police custody.
Police say the victim who is in his 20s remains admitted in the CWM Hospital in critical condition.
Police say initial information gathered on the vehicle registration has been ruled out.
They say investigators however managed to track down the same vehicle seen in the CCTV footage with a different registration.
