A suspect and all occupants of a home in Tuatua Village on Koro Island are in police custody after a raid was conducted this morning that resulted in the seizure of dried leaves and seeds believed to be marijuana.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says earlier this week, raids were conducted in Savusavu that also resulted in the seizure of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

ACP Khan says after conducting further enquiries the team managed to locate the suspect’s farm, where plants believed to be marijuana were uprooted.

He adds as more information is received on the alleged cultivation and trade of the illegal substance, officers are being pushed forward to ensure all efforts are directed towards arresting those involved.
