Swire Shipping Fijian Drua prop Mesake Doge has been cited for a dangerous play in a ruck following his side's 52-15 loss to the Western Force at HBF Park over the weekend.

The incident occurred in the final minute of the game, with Doge entering a ruck and making heavy contact with Force captain Jeremy Williams.

While he was not penalised by the referee Nic Berry when the incident occurred, the Citing Commissioner subsequently deemed the incident met the Red Card threshold for foul play.

The matter will be considered in the first instance by the Super Rugby Pacific Foul Play Review Committee (FPRC) later today.

In order for the matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, Doge must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the FPRC.

The Fijian Drua will be on a bye this weekend before they return to Suva next week to host the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, in the games of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific round 8 this week, the Hurricanes will take on the Waratahs at 6.05pm Friday, the Brumbies will play the Highlanders at 8.35pm Friday, the Crusaders will take on Moana Pasifika at 6.05pm Saturday and the Reds will play the Force at 8.35pm Saturday.
