Luis Diaz scored twice to send Liverpool top of the Premier League standings

Luis Diaz scored twice in the first half as Liverpool returned to winning ways in the English Premier League with an emphatic 3-0 win over Bournemouth at Anfield.

Bournemouth’s goal was disallowed by the video assistant referee for offside.

The Reds responded in ruthless fashion, going close through Diaz, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez before Diaz rounded Kepa Arrizabalaga and slid the ball into an empty net to open the scoring.

The Colombian struck again moments later to double their lead.

Nunez, making his first League start since April, made it 3-0.

The win lifts Liverpool top of the EPL table before tomorrow’s game between last season's top two - Manchester City and Arsenal.

In other matches this morning, Chelsea beat West Ham 3-nil while Ipswich Town and Southampton finished the match at 1-all.
