Devo Babas beat Dominion Brothers 10-5 to win Marist 7s title and be crowned Fiji Bitter series champion

The Viti Roofing Devo Babas have been crowned the new Fiji Bitter Marist 7s Men’s Champion after claiming a hard-fought 10-5 win over a determined Axellerate Dominion Brothers in the Cup Final tonight.

Dominion Brothers scored the first try of the match to take a 5-0 lead at the break before Devo Babas came back in the second half to score 2 unconverted tries and denying the Dominion Brothers from scoring anymore points.

The win has also seen them being crowned the Fiji Bitter 7s Series after scooping 6 tournaments of the 12-tournament series.

They finished off with 1650 points ahead of BLK Lavidi Brothers who finished second, and Wardens who finished 3rd in the overall series.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s series, Lilian Amazon scooped the title after finishing the series with an overall 161 pts.

Wardens Women finished second while Tagimoucia Ranadi finished 3rd.

In the Discovery Shield, Vacalea Young Boys claimed the title ahead of St. Johns Lomary and Cautata Eagles who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In other finals this evening, the Lomary U18 Women defeated Striders 15-0 to claim the Women’s U18 title, and Navakawau was crowned the U18 Men’s Champion after defeating Baravi Brothers 17-0.

In the U21 Men’s final, the Fiji Sports Council Grassroots defeated Aflame Brothers 15-0 to be crowned Champions.

In the Men’s Bowl final, Nakavu defeated FSC Grassroots 14-0 while Navy edged Wardens Gold 5-0 to win the Plate Final.

Police Blue finished in 3rd place after beating Tabadamu 24-7.
