Falling short in his first attempt in 2020 did not deter Police Constable 8624 Martin Iakoba from attaining his dream of becoming a Police Officer.

PC Iakoba was one of the 223 officers who passed out yesterday from the Fiji Police Force, and he was also awarded the Baton of Honour.

He says, despite the disappointment in 2020, he was elated when he received the call to march in for the Basic Recruitment Course Training.

He adds once he started to accept the obstacles they faced every day, he got used to it, and now he has been honoured as the best of Batch 67.

PC Iakoba says nothing is impossible, and it's all in the mind. He says he programmed his mind to adjust and cope with whatever was thrown at them.

PC Iakoba says as the weeks drew closer to the end of the BRC training, his excitement grew knowing he was about to realise his childhood dream.

He adds when attending high school in Flagstaff, he would often see Police Officers in uniform and wanted to become one, and he set his goal towards becoming a police officer to help keep communities safe.
