Deadline for TSLS students to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine extended to 31st August

The deadline for all Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Services sponsored students to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has been extended to the 31st of this month.

Chairman Rakesh Ram says to continue receiving the benefits, all TSLS sponsored students aged 18 years and above must receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by 31st August and the second dose by 1st November 2021.

Students who refuse to get their first dose by 31st August will have their allowance and tuition payments suspended until they get vaccinated.

Ram says students may be granted an exemption in certain circumstances.

This includes students that are exempted by Ministry of Health, students living in areas where the COVID-19 vaccine is not available and those who are below the age of 18.
