Daveta and Salusalu appointed as Permanent Secretaries for Policing and Immigration respectively

Public Service Commission Chairman, Luke Rokovada has announced that Berenado Kolinio Daveta is the new Permanent Secretary for Policing, while Aliki Vuli Salusalu is the Permanent Secretary for Immigration.

Rokovada says Daveta was the Director Special Branch in the Fiji Police Force; Chief of Staff; Divisional Police Commander South; Force Contingent Commander in the UN Mission in Darfur, Sudan.

Rokovada says he is currently a Senior Consultant with the United Nations Development Program in Suva and has double Masters degree in Governance and Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific.

Daveta will assumes his new role as Permanent Secretary Policing effective from today.

Meanwhile, Salusalu has a Bachelor’s Degree with distinction in Computer Engineering and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree with honours from the University of Western Sydney, Australia.

The Chairman further says he is a professional member of the Institute of Engineers in Australia.

He was the Director of ITC Services with the Fiji Government for five years from 2007 – 2012. He served as Counsellor with the Fiji Diplomatic Mission in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He has worked extensively as Project Engineer with multiple organisations in Australia in the Engineering fields. Salusalu will assume his role as Permanent Secretary Immigration from the middle of June, 2025.
