Daugunu to captain Fiji men’s 7s team in Singapore and Vancouver 7s tournaments

4 players to make their debut

Wardens 7s team captain Tevita Daugunu will lead the Fiji Airways men’s national 7s team in the Singapore and Vancouver 7s this month.

Daugunu made his debut for Fiji in the Dubai 7s tournaments last year.

He has played six matches for Fiji, scored two tries and received a yellow card.

Daugunu is a Corrections Officer and also played for top local club Raiwasa Taveuni.

Olympic Games gold medalist Josua Vakurunabili will guide the powerful forward pack which consists of top local players Joseva Talacolo, Jeremaia Matana, Daugunu and Elia Canakaivata.

Jerry Tuwai and Nacuqu will lead the backline supported by Iowane Raturaciri, Iowane Teba and Kaminieli Rasaku who made their debut in Dubai last year.

Halfback Filipo Bukayaro of Army, Fire 7s players Vuivi-awa Naduvalo, Tira Wilagi and Tabadamu’s Josevani Soro will make their debut in Singapore.

The team leaves for Singapore on Monday.

The Singapore 7s will be held next weekend while the Vancouver 7s will be played on the 17th and 18th of this month.
