DPP to review arms and ammunition file

By Mansi Chand
21/04/2025

The investigation into the arms and ammunition matter has been completed and the case file will now be forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal review.

Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu confirmed this following one gun and 600 ammunition seizure through a joint operation by Police, Fiji Revenue and Customs Service and Fiji Navy on a vessel in Viti Levu waters on the 18th of last month.

He says thorough investigation has been done.

The Commissioner urges people to be cautious about what they state about arms and ammunition as the initial information claimed that 350 arms were found.

He further says such information must be verified to avoid unnecessary panic and fear among the people.

The Commissioner adds that the file will be forwarded to the DPP for finalisation and will mark the final stage of the investigation process.
