Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation and Education, Viliame Gavoka has assured his support to growing the aviation industry in Fiji, particularly with the Fiji National University.

While meeting with the FNU staff during his recent visit to the FNU Namaka Campus Gavoka reiterated that he is very passionate about civil aviation and wants it to be the centre for Civil Aviation regionally.

He says it is evident that there is a shortage of aviation people all over the world however, we can overcome this by growing the capacity in the county to produce more aviation people for which the commitment is there.

The Minister says they are exploring more opportunities with the Australian and New Zealand colleagues and will be watchful that whatever decision that comes up suits FNU so that they have the resources, and backups to put things together.
