31-year-old Lui Bale Vuibureta

Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavola is recommending 31-year-old Lui Bale Vuibureta, also known as XKON on TikTok, to undergo psychiatric evaluation.

Vuibureta allegedly offended Minister for Information Lynda Tabuya on social media.

He is charged with one count of indecently annoying any person, one count of causing harm by posting electronic communication, and one count of criminal intimidation.

Magistrate Waqaivolavola is recommending Vuibureta undergo psychiatric evaluation at Saint Giles Hospital because of his intense look during the denial of his previous bail application before him.

He asks if Vuibureta could be assessed to see if he is of sound mind.

Defence Counsel, Eroni Navuda objected to this while Magistrate Waqaivolavola says the Court has the last say.

State Prosecutor Eoghn Samisoni did not object to bail.

Magistrate Waqaivolavola will grant Vuibureta bail on the condition that two suitable sureties be provided by this afternoon.

The matter has been adjourned to this afternoon.
