Plan to withdraw 3 Bills did not go ahead in Parliament
The government's plan to withdraw the Access to Information Bill, Code of Conduct Bill and Accountability and Transparency Commission Bill today did not go despite being listed in parliamentary order paper.

This was listed as a motion for the parliamentary sitting today.

Acting Attorney General, Siromi Turaga was expected to move the motion to withdraw these Bills.

fijivillage News contacted Turaga this morning on why these important Bills are being withdrawn.

The motion did not go ahead this afternoon, and Turaga said that it was withdrawn after deliberations on the competing legislative programs.

He confirms that the three Bills are saved like other Bills.

Turaga says they are still in Committee stage and work in progress.
