The Chinese Government has donated 200 basketballs and 20 wheelchairs to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The Ambassador of China to Fiji, Qian Bo says the donation is a clear demonstration of China’s support for the Fijian community and youth development.

He says since the outbreak of COVID-19, China has provided assistance to Fiji with the spirit of overcoming difficulties in solidarity.

Minister of Youth and Sports, Parveen Bala acknowledged the Chinese government for their assistance in the past with the funding for two new high standard volleyball courts in Nasinu and Nadi.

Bala says these types of gestures will help them promote the health and well-being of the communities and also help to identify some talents in the community that will be representing Fiji in sports.
