It was all smiles for the children residing in Treasure, Saint Tabitha, Saint Minas and Veilomani Homes as they received their Christmas gifts during a surprise visit by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Akbar.

Akbar says a gift can be something spiritual like a prayer, words of encouragement, good advice or something material or physical.

She says this simple gesture brought priceless smiles on the faces of the children which enhanced the joy of the season.

Akbar also emphasized on sharing with the less fortunate this Christmas and glorifying the true spirit of the season.

She says this Christmas should be a time to pause and reflect on the importance of things around us.

The Minister is also urging families to make every effort to keep their children safe.
