Jack Grealish has apologised and been fined by Aston Villa after breaking government lockdown guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 24-year-old revealed he left his house to meet with a friend over the weekend despite being instructed with staying at home to prevent the spread of the virus.

Grealish said in a video posted on his social media feeds that he is deeply embarrassed about what has happened.

He says he knows it's a tough time for everyone at the moment, being locked indoors for so long, and he obviously just got a call off a friend asking him to go round to his and he stupidly agreed to do so.

He adds he does not want anyone to make the same mistake that he did adding he obviously and genuinely wants to stay at home and follow the rules and guidelines of what they have been asked to do.
