With a population of 14,176, the province of Bua is looking forward to seeing Nabouwalu be declared a town.
Government’s Provincial Administrator in the North Inoke Tagicakibau said the plan for Nabouwalu to become a satellite town is in progress and the ITaukei Lands Trust Board is working closely with the Town and Country Planning Unit.
Tagicakibau said with this plan, businesses and investors are expected to bring a major boost to the Bua economy.
30-year-old Seru Tupoucake said the developments taking place in Bua is a chance for the people to get employed, easy access for their goods to the market and to create a better environment for their children.
Nabouwalu currently has a post office, hospital, jetty, hardware shop, restaurant, small grocery shops, market and a resource centre with the other government facilities.
