People who supply drugs have no place in Lau.

This has been strongly affirmed by the Paramount Chief of Lau, Na Gone Turaga Bale na Tui Nayau, Sau ni Vanua ko Lau, Tui Lau, Ratu Tevita Lutunauga Kapaiwai Uluilakeba Mara.

The Tui Lau has announced the province's full support for the fight against drugs, pledging close cooperation with the Police and the RFMF to eradicate drug-related activities from its communities.

Ratu Tevita says this commitment reflects the province’s dedication to safeguarding the well-being and safety of its people.

Ratu Tevita is urging those struggling with substance abuse to rehabilitate and redeem themselves, adding that the fight also extends to addressing violence against women.

He says unity is key to building a brighter future for children and generations to come, and has called on other provinces to join in presenting a united front against these societal challenges.

Chairman of the Lau Provincial Council Ratu Meli Saubulinayau echoed similar sentiments, stressing that the province’s commitment is a call to action.

Ratu Meli says community involvement and collaboration are essential in overcoming drug trafficking and related social issues.
