John O’Connor and Daniel Whippy case set for mention on Thursday

Former National Fire Authority of Fiji Board Chair John O’Connor and Carpenters Fiji Managing Director Daniel Whippy's bail have been extended.

The court have set their mention date for this Thursday.

O’Connor is charged with one count of abuse of office, while Whippy is charged with one count of counselling the omission of an offence.

It is alleged that between January 1, 2018, and September 28, 2018, while employed as the NFA Board Chair, O’Connor abused his authority by arbitrarily directing NFA officers to amend the findings of their April 30, 2018 fire investigation report concerning the April 8, 2018 fire at the MH Warehouse in Walu Bay.
