University of Fiji’s international accreditation extended to 2028

The University of Fiji has successfully completed its mid-cycle review under the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education Global Accreditation framework, resulting in the extension of its international accreditation until March 2028.

The review confirms the University has made strong and satisfactory progress since receiving QAA Global Accreditation in 2023 and continues to meet the European Standards and Guidelines for higher education.

The mid-cycle review included a desk-based assessment and an onsite visit.

Reviewers Dr Julian Ellis and Mr Matthew Kitching assessed academic standards, governance, quality assurance systems, and learning resources.

They conclude that the University continues to meet QAA’s required standards and recommended extending its International Quality Review status.

The University leadership says the outcome reflects a strong commitment to governance, continuous improvement, and a growing culture of quality.

They say the extended accreditation boosts the international credibility of University of Fiji qualifications.

QAA Global Accreditation assures students, employers, and global partners that the University’s academic programmes meet high international benchmarks.
