Breaching health restrictions to drink alcohol remains a major concern

Police continue to arrest people who are breaching the health restrictions in place to drink alcohol.

19 people were arrested in the last 24 hours for breaching curfew orders and health restrictions.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says the Eastern Division recorded 8 cases whereby 6 people were arrested for drinking alcohol at Duilomaloma Road in Waila while 2 others were found drunk and loitering along the King's Road.

He says of the 7 cases recorded in the Southern Division, 5 cases concerning alcohol were reported in Narere while 2 men were found loitering during curfew hours in Tacirua. Tudravu adds the Western Division recorded 4 cases including a man in his 40’s who was found driving without a Pass in Rakiraki while 3 others were found intoxicated along in Nadi.
