Being based at home now is not a distraction,any off-field issues will be dealt with accordingly – Byrne

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach, Mick Byrne says being based at home now is not a distraction for the team but they will be living a normal life.

Following their one year away from home in their inaugural season, Byrne says people have been asking him about the distractions for the players now that they are based at home but responded that the biggest distraction was living away from home last season.

He adds players are getting back into the routine of spending time with their families back in the village during the weekends.

Byrne adds that there are some lifestyle adjustments that he will have to make but any off-field issues will be dealt with accordingly just like any other environment.

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will open their 2023 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific against Moana Pasifika on Saturday February 25th at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland.

Their first home match in Fiji will be against defending champions, the Crusaders, on 11th March 2023 in Lautoka.
