Batirerega Snr says Ba Masters to honour late Taito Bula in memorial match against Suva Masters tomorrow

Batirerega Snr says Ba Masters to honour late Taito Bula in memorial match against Suva Masters tomorrow

With football in decline in Ba, the Ba Masters team hopes to showcase some class tomorrow as they face Suva Masters in the 3rd Taito Bula Memorial Cup match.

Ba Masters player Lorima Batirerega Senior says the veteran players have been training well and are looking forward to a good match.

He says football fans will have the chance to see their favourites, such as Meli and Leto Delai, Iosefo Vosaboto, and Semi Tabaiwalu, take the field once again.

He further says that all these players are over the age of 40 and, given the real threat of non-communicable diseases, staying active is crucial.

Part of the funds raised through sponsorships and fundraising efforts by both teams will go to the family of the late Taito Bula, a former national and Ba striker, who passed away in 2022.

The Suva Masters team defeated Ba Masters 2-1 in 2022 and drew 1-all last year.

The match will be played at the Ba Methodist School ground at 3pm tomorrow.

Entry is free.
