The Vodafone Fiji Bati is working towards tightening their defence as they prepare for another tough battle against the Cook Islands Aitu in round 2 of the Pacific Rugby League Bowl Championship this weekend.

Captain Tui Kamikamica says this is an area of focus for them this week.

In their loss to the PNG Kumuls last Saturday, the Bati’s defence was exposed and it was evident as they had to scramble in defence to bring their opposition players down when possession turned against them.

Kamikamica says most of the tries that were scored last week came through the middle.

The Bati will need to beat the Aitu this weekend and hope that the Kumuls lose to the Aitu next weekend with a big score margin to get the Bowl Championship into a decider.

The Bati will take on the Aitu at 8.10pm this Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fiji Bulikula will take on the Cook Islands Moana at 6pm in round 2 of the Pacific Women’s Rugby League Bowl Championship.
