Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Osea Kolinisau says the help that former coach Gareth Baber has given to the team leading up to the HSBC Singapore 7s tournament this weekend has influenced the players a lot in a very positive way.

Kolinisau says Baber has been there and done that and it is also good for him as a coach to get the views of Baber from a different perspective.

He says having Baber in their training sessions and sharing his knowledge on how he did things with the team that he took to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is a great bonus for him and the team’s preparation.

The Fiji Men’s 7s side will play the USA at 5.14pm this Friday in their first pool match before facing Great Britain at 10.30pm Friday.

They will meet Ireland at 5.37pm on Saturday in their final pool match. The Cup quarter-finals will start at 11pm on Saturday, the semi-finals will start at 5.48pm on Sunday and the final will kick off at 10.21pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s will open their Singapore 7s campaign against Great Britain at 4.28pm this Friday, then they will take on Brazil at 9.43pm on Friday in their second match and play Australia at 4.50pm on Saturday in their last pool match.

The Women’s quarter-finals will start at 8.27pm Saturday, the semi-finals will begin at 5.02pm Sunday, and the Final will be held at 9.41pm Sunday.
