Fiji 7s Coach Gareth Baber and FRU CEO John O'Connor

The Fiji Rugby Union has extended the contract of Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Team Coach Gareth Baber until the Tokyo Olympics next year.

FRU CEO John O'Connor says they are glad to sign Baber for another year and to have him take charge of the 2020/2021 World 7s Series.

O'Connor says Baber's current contract was supposed to expire on the 5th of February 2021 had the Tokyo 2020 Games taken place.

Baber has thanked the FRU Board for their trust and confidence in allowing him to guide the national side.

He says coaching the national side is a huge task and he is grateful for the opportunity to continue and see the team through to the Olympics next year.
