BSP Life increases level of support for Leadership Fiji to $16,000

The BSP Financial Group made up of the Bank, BSP Life and BSP Finance has increased their level of support to $16,000 as a platinum partner for Leadership Fiji.

During the signing of the sponsorship, Managing Director of BSP Life Michael Nacola says the group is delighted to be able to extend their partnership with Leadership Fiji with the tremendous job they are doing in developing the leaders of the future.

Nacola says economic growth and all our aspirations as a country is founded on good leadership and BSP Group commends them for all the work that they have done up until now.

He says they know that Leadership Fiji got bigger and better things in store and they have seen some of their people from the BSP Finance Group being part of the program and are a testament to the good work that Leadership Fiji does in terms of not just fulfilling their vision and mission but also developing leadership capability across the entire group.

Leadership Fiji Board Chair, William Parkinson says Leadership Fiji is very proud of the fact that it is a local and not for profit organization and they say that very deliberately because they are created, run and funded largely in Fiji.

Parkinson says most of the bulk of their funding comes from the private sector in Fiji.

He says looking at the Leadership Fiji’s list of sponsors, it's quite long and that's quite deliberate and they want to see themselves as being responsible and accountable to the community.

He says they are deliberately structured that way and don't rely on a large overseas donor to fund their operations and are almost 90% funded by local organisations which is something they are very proud of.

Nacola says with the challenge we have right now with our skilled people going overseas, a pathway needs to be created where that talent can be replaced and also create an opportunity that minimises the need for people to do this.

Nacola has urged all in the corporate sector to invest in forums like this as they are very important for us.
