The Chief Surgeon of the CWM Hospital, Doctor Josese Turagava says anti-vaccine campaigns are nothing new and people should not be easily swayed by the conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr Turagava highlighted this while speaking on facebook live on the COVID-19 Response Kadavu Forum panel discussion last night.

He says a lot of people are basing their theories on the Bible but it is just their fear of reading the Book of Revelations and their fear of the unknown that causes their suspicion.

Dr Turagava says there is a high number of people that have believed these theories but he wants to reassure people that all these theories are wrong.

He says all this information is just being circulated to discredit the vaccine and the good work that is being done.

Doctor Turagava says they are doing their part as medical professionals but everyone needs to do their part in the fight against COVID-19.

He says they know that this is their calling in trying to enlighten people about the effectiveness of the vaccine.

Dr Turagava says it hurts them as medical professionals that bad and incorrect things are being said about their work when they know that it is good for the people.
