Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister and Immigration Mr Yogesh Karan congratulates newly-appointed acting Director for Immigration Ms Amelia Komaisavai and is joined by Immigration executive officials.

Amelia Kotobalavu Komaisavai has been appointed as the Acting Director for the Department of Immigration.

Before taking up the role, Komaisavai served as Chief Policy and Research Officer at the Office of the Prime Minister.

The Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister and Immigration, Yogesh Karan says Komaisavai possess a wealth of experience and skills which will further enhance the overall operations of the Department.

Karan says she has been a staff at the Office of the Prime Minister since 2010 and had risen through the ranks of the organisation from senior administration officials to principal officer to Director Monitoring and Evaluation.

He says she later became the Chief Assistant Secretary before being appointed the Chief Policy and Research Officer.

Komaisavai holds a Certificate in Professional Diploma in Business Leadership from the University of the South Pacific, Master’s in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts also from USP.
