The first phase of the All Blacks Men’s 7s team’s preparations for 7s Rugby World Cup defence will begin in Fiji.

Eight months since competing in the Tokyo Olympics, the All Blacks 7s team will be back in action later this month, starting in Fiji.

The All Blacks 7s team has missed the first four legs of the 2022 World Series, and their return is crucial ahead of the Commonwealth Games in July and August and Sevens World Cup in South Africa in September.

The All Blacks 7s team will play matches against Olympic champions Fiji and Australia in Lautoka on March 18th and 19th before travelling to Suva for the Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens on March 24th and 26th.

New Zealand Rugby Head of High Performance Mike Anthony says matches in Fiji will be vital to kick-start their on-field performance ahead of a huge six months that features two pinnacle events.
